| Wine name: Sweet Elderflower Wine. Producer: Me! Vintage: 2010. Appearance quite a pale, clear yellow, like a colombard, thin-medium on the glass with elderflowers aromatics. The attack is soft, medium-sweet and light. Evolution: Sugar and elderflowers with a finish which is sugary elderflowers, quite lingering. Sweetness: 3. Acidity: 2. Tannin: 0 with a texture which is soft and velvety and the length is excellent. As for balance, it's beautiful – sweet but not too sweet, gently fruity, beautifully balanced. The wine has a cork cap closure and is 0% abv. Overall, this wine is: Delicious! Not one I meant to make, but this is really, really nice. It was overpowered by both the meat loaf and the prunes in brandy, but probably an ideal summer drink. Make again! The only thing that keeps it off a 90 is the sugar taste.. My score (which is NOT the same as Robert Parker's!) is 89 points. |
