White #Vallée d'Aoste #wine from Italy: 2011 : http://tinyurl.com/3qjhotd

Wine name: Pinot Gris. Producer: Cave des Onze Communes, Aymavilles. Vintage: 2011. Purchased from vineyard. Appearance very slightly rosé gris colour, medium and slow on the glass. with very fresh and minerally aromatics. The attack is lime juice, candy cigarettes. Evolution: Flint, dry soil, lime, good acidity with a finish which is lime oil in nose, lime zest on swallow. Sweetness: 0. Acidity: 3.5. Tannin: 0.5 with a texture which is sandpaper and the length is very good. As for balance, it's a little bitter. The wine has a synthetic closure and is 13% abv. Overall, this wine is: Nice, but definitely a “food” wine, as it's a little on the bitter side. Interesting though, and at least it's not a flabby Pinot Griggio!. My score (which is NOT the same as Robert Parker's!) is 81 points.
