| Wine name: Spätburgunder Rosé. Producer: Weingut Peter Schneider, Waldstraße 13, D-55432 Damscheid. Vintage: 2007. Purchased from vineyard restaurant in st goar. Appearance very pale, almost a gris with peaches, orange oil aromatics. The attack is soft and fruity with good acidity. Evolution: Quite citrusy with notes of honey and cheesecake with a finish which is lemon curd on the swallow and in the nose. Sweetness: 0.5. Acidity: 3. Tannin: 0 with a texture which is slightly thick and syrupy and the length is a little patchy. As for balance, it's nicely balanced with good acidity. The wine has a cork closure and is 11.5% abv. Overall, this wine is: Nice, perhaps just past its best, but very drinkable and quite mellow. My score (which is NOT the same as Robert Parker's!) is 82 points. |
